General Summary:

The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for selling Winsert’s products and services vital to the long-term growth strategy of the Company through the achievement of opportunity-based sales quotas.

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Maintain favorable and regular contact and correspondence of assigned customers through relationship-selling.

  • Focus sales efforts on identifying, analyzing, and interpreting customer requirements in order to demonstrate Winsert technical solutions for evolving customer needs.

  • Identify and develop new opportunities by presenting technical capabilities of Winsert’s products and services to new and existing customers for profitable sales.

  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.

  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans for assigned customers.

  • Supply Management and other Sales team members with customer visit reports.

  • Be a champion user of Contact Report Management (CRM) for customer opportunity tracking and account and contact management.

  • Relay customer forecasts to the organization and maintain the data year over year.

  • Manage request for quotation (RFQ) process by initiating an e-quote and working closely with Product & Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, and Quality Engineering by conducting quote review meetings as required as well as finalizing the quotation for submission to the customer.

  • Ensure seamless transition of new customer orders through collaboration with Customer Service, Product & Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, and Quality Engineering and Manufacturing.

  • Facilitate and project-manage all new customer opportunities from receipt for quote through the order fulfillment stages.

  • Manage assigned customer sales and logistics portals as needed.

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Watch and advise of market trends relative to business and adjust forecast appropriately.

  • Collaborate with Winsert’s resources for joint sales calls and technical discussions with customers.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.

  • Adhere to Winsert’s Code of Conduct.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

  • Knowledge of the French and Spanish languages is a plus.

  • Understanding of basic engine functionality, metals performance, and general mechanical engineering.

  • Exhibit excellent time management and problem-solving skills while displaying exceptional attention to detail.

  • Adapt to changing requirements with minimal interruption in normal work flow.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Winsert’s mission, vision, and ethics statement.

  • Capable of making effective decisions under pressure.

  • Receive and analyze data and present to management as required.

  • Proficient computer skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, TCM, CRM, and Power Point.

  • Strong interpersonal and team orientation skills.


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to actively move through office space to work with staff.

  • Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen.

  • Hearing must be correctable to allow extensive use of telephone and voicemail as well as participate in discussions among large groups.

  • Mobility and coordination must allow frequent traveling.


Education and Experience:

  • Education level of an associate degree with a BS in Mechanical Engineering being preferable.

  • Minimum 3 years demonstrable success as principal sales person of technically advanced or engineered products.

  • Demonstrated success in creating profitable new business.

  • Technical knowledge of alloys and metallurgy a plus.

  • Project Management experience a plus.
