Production Supervisor

Job Title: Production Supervisor

General Summary:

This position works closely with the Management Team and the other Supervisors to ensure that parts are processed in a timely manner and are shipped according to our customer's needs. 

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Maintain acceptable quality, inventory, and profitability levels within the scope of responsibility. 

  • Maintain proper workforce necessary to minimize costs, limit overtime, and ensure Winsert complies with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.

  • Accountable for on-time delivery, scrap, and consumption of perishable items. 

  • Manage daily production flow and adhere to production and shipping schedules. 

  • Communicate regularly with all Shift employees to keep them informed of all pertinent issues regarding priorities, work schedules, quality issues, etc.

  • Enforce Winsert policies and rules consistently.

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Approve maintenance work orders.

  • Conduct employee evaluations.

  • Schedule and conduct shift meetings. 

  • Perform shift audits and assist in quality-related tasks. 

  • Participate actively in our continuous improvement (Kaizen) program.

  • Purchase inventory & non-inventory supplies for Machine Shop and Inspection Area. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent time management skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks. 

  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with all levels of authority.

  • Proficient computer skills (TCM, Word, Excel)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required. 

  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements with minimal interruption of normal work flow. 

  • Must get along well with others. 


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to actively move through office space to work with staff. 

  • Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen. 

  • Hearing must be correctable to allow extensive use of telephone and voicemail as well as participate in discussions among large groups. 

  • Mobility and coordination must allow for required tasks to be performed. 


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum high school education, Supervision Pathway Certificate highly desirable. 

  • Prior training and/or experience with Lean Manufacturing is desirable.

  • Prior experience in a supervisory role is desirable.
