Winsert 2022 Environmental Objective Contest Winners

As a requirement for ISO 14001 we are required to establish environmental objectives each year that are SMART; Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound. The contest is another means of bringing attention to our requirements and tapping into the collective intelligence of our employees to develop new goals each year to help ensure a healthy environment in the future. I’d like to thank those that took their time to make some very thoughtful submissions. There were three contest winners listed below along with their submissions.

  1. Have a day or days around “Earth Day” where our employees can bring in electronic devices like Christmas lights, TV Sets, Fluorescent Lights, etc. for proper environmental disposal and recycling. The winner wishes to remain anonymous and has declined the $150 prize.

  2. “Schedule a cleanup day or days; 15-20 minutes a shift to pickup garbage/trash around Winsert to help clean up the environment.” Employees may be able to use VTO in 2022 around Earth Day for other environmental issues like neighborhood, community, road, river or shoreline cleanup.   3. “Put up some bat houses in the wooded area behind the pond to keep mosquitos down.” Todd Kinney; $50 Dunham’s gift card.
