General Summary:

Proficiently operate wax injection machines, perform inspection and repairs on wax molds, apply dip coating and invest the molds within specifications listed on mounting cards and data sheets.

Essential Job Functions Include:

• Operate hydraulic & pneumatic wax injection machines, while producing wax molds within requirements
• Inspect wax molds for defects and repair as needed
• Assemble wax molds onto sprues, per mounting cards, for dipping and investment processes
• Measure an assortment of hazardous chemicals to produce mixture for coating & investment processes
• Apply coating to wax assemblies
• Prepare investment process cans & wax molds using hot wax to adhere assemblies together
• Track & maintain orders throughout investment processes
• Proper PPE attire required throughout all processes – Goggles, Face shield, Rubber Apron, Rubber Gloves, etc.

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Yearly hazardous waste handling training
  • Properly disposes hazardous waste per SDS
  • Other duties as assigned

• Ability to use basic hand tools & power tools
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to use basic computer skills
• Correctly effects general housekeeping

Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, bending, stooping and stretching
  • Requires the ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Requires exposure to machines and chemicals
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and a normal range of hearing and vision (with or without correction)
  • Consistency and personal accountability are important attributes for this position
  • Must be able to resolve problems on a daily basis, handle multi-tasking and make effective decisions

Education and Experience:​

  • Minimum high school education or equivalent
