GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position works closely with the Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to develop new robust machining methods and improving machining methods for producing core and new product. This position will develop capable manufacturing methods by production of test samples, PPAP parts and oversee transition to production. This position is also responsible for developing and adhering to manufacturing schedules based on the scope of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Process development and optimization of alternate and existing product
• Initial manufacture of alternate product
• Training of production operators/setup personal
• Development of standard operating procedures and detailed work instructions for products
• Specification of equipment/tooling necessary for production of new product or process/product improvement
• Incorporation of and adherence to applicable SPC requirements
• Development of and adherence to sample preparation schedule
• Maintenance of supplies and equipment used in area including general housekeeping

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Comply with 5S program
• Comply with all environmental, OSHA and quality standards.
• Other tasks as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Must have advanced skills in CNC setup and machine operation (mill, lathe, mill/turn, etc.)
• Complete understanding of reading blueprints
• Experience and understanding of geometric code (G-code) and miscellaneous code (M-code) for CNC equipment programming
Must be proficient at writing and editing CNC programs for CNC equipment using computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software, preferably Esprit Software
• Must have excellent time management skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
• Good computer (TCM, Word, Excel, etc.) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of authority
• Ability to adapt to ever changing requirements with minimal interruption to normal workflow
• Ability to work on alternate shifts when necessary
• Must get along with others

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to actively move through office space to work with staff
• Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen
• Hearing must be correctable to allow understanding of instructions, and use of telephone and voicemail as well as participate in discussions among large groups
• Mobility and coordination must allow for required tasks to be completed
• Must be able to lift a 35 lb. box from floor to a maximum height of 36 inches

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum high school education
  • Basic computer skills
  • 1 year minimum of computer aided manufacturing (CAM) experience, preferably Esprit Software
  • 3 years minimum of CNC mill experience
  • 1 year minimum of CNC mill set up experience
  • 3 years minimum of CNC lathe experience
  • 1 year minimum of CNC lathe set up experience

TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

  • Hourly Rate:  $30-$35
  • Bonus of $1,000 at one year anniversary & $1,500 at two year anniversary
