Job Title: General Labor

Reports to: Machine Shop Supervisor

Department: Machine Shop

Location: Marinette, Wisconsin

Status: Full Time

Classification: Non-Exempt

General Summary:

This position works closely with Machine Shop Supervisor to ensure that the Machine Shop is maintained properly so that parts are manufactured properly and in a timely manner according to the customer requirements.

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Driving a forklift.

  • Operating sumpsucker.

  • Cleaning Machine Shop and plant as directed.

  • Cleaning mud tanks with sumpsucker and taking care of mud barrels.

  • Cleaning hot dip tanks.

  • Cleaning tanks on the grinders and the CNC's.

  • Cleaning of fans and mist collection equipment.

  • Removing garbage/recyclables and placing in the correct designated areas.

  • Taking care of chip barrels.

  • Assisting in certain functions of the central coolant system; including maintaining proper concentration levels of coolant.

  • Maintaining / cleaning of vibe and parts washer.

  • Parts catcher / hopper monitor when required.

  • Must get along with others.

Secondary Job Functions:

  • All other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of authority.

  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements with minimal interruption of normal work flow.

  • Must get along with others.


Physical Demands:

  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, bending, stooping and stretching.

  • Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds.

  • Requires exposure to machines and chemicals.

  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity and a normal range of hearing and vision (with or without correction).

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum high school education or equivalent.
