Job Title: Business Development Manager - Europe

General Summary:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for evaluating new markets and prospects while working with internal and external customers to validate opportunities focused on extreme metal wear applications which may result in new business for Winsert.

Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Conduct market research on target markets identified by Winsert’s strategic planning team

  • Present market studies along with recommendations around target markets identified

  • Identify and develop new opportunities and customers with target markets by presenting technical capabilities of Winsert’s products and services for profitable sales

  • Work closely with the Sales & Marketing, R&D, and Engineering teams to validate new market leads which align with Winsert’s core competencies and competitive advantage

  • Collaborate with Winsert resources for joint sales calls and technical discussions with potential customers in new identified markets

  • Based on market research, develop competitive pricing strategies for new industry products and services

  • Ensure seamless transition of new customer orders through collaboration with Customer Service, Product & Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing

  • Adhere to Winsert Code of Conduct

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Observe and advise of market trends relative to traditional, emerging, and new potential markets

  • Account management in new markets until transition to sales account management occurs

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending approved educational workshops

  • Proficient computer skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, and other internal systems.

  • Possess analytical skills to identify industry trends and challenges

  • Understand basic metals performance and general mechanical engineering

  • Exhibit excellent time management and problem-solving skills, while displaying attention to detail

  • Adapt to changing requirements with minimal interruption in normal work flow

  • Strong interpersonal and team orientation skills

  • Ability to efficiently multi-task in a highly detailed and organized “team oriented” environment

  • Maintain exceptional confidentiality and security of all Winsert related information

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to actively move through office spaces and be capable of traveling to potential and existing customers

  • Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen.

  • Hearing must be correctable to allow extensive use of telephone and voicemail as well as participate in discussions among large groups

  • Mobility and coordination must allow for frequent traveling​​

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or technology related field preferred

  • Minimum 8-10 years demonstrable success as principal salesperson of technically advanced or engineered products to OEMs

  • Demonstrated success in creating profitable new markets/customers

  • Technical knowledge of metallurgy is a plus

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain professional and courteous relationships with customers and co-workers
