W740-P®

W740-P® is a patented high carbon, high alloyed iron-base material with excellent wear resistance and yield strength for heavy duty exhaust applications. This material is a significant upgrade to traditional M2 type tool steels and high chromium type nickel-base alloys. W740-P® can provide similar or better performance than traditional commercial cobalt-base alloys. The combination of excellent wear resistance, high hot hardness, and high yield strength makes it a good valve seat insert material choice for severe exhaust applications.
