  • Business Development Manager

    GENERAL SUMMARY:
    The Business Development Manager is responsible for evaluating new prospects and markets while working with internal andexternal customers to validate opportunities focused on extreme metal wear applications which may result in new business for Winsert.
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • Identify and develop new opportunities and customers by presenting technical capabilities of Winsert's products and services for profitable sales.
    • Work closely with the Marketing team to properly investigate and validate new market leads which align with Winsert core competencies and R&D expertise.
    • Collaborate with Winsert resources for joint sales calls and technical discussions with potential customers.
    • Support traditional Winsert sales through prospecting, account management and attention to current customers as assigned.
    • Maintain activity files and be a champion user of Contact Report Management (CRM) for customer opportunity tracking and account and contact management.
    • Supply Management and other Sales team members with customer visit reports.
    • Ensure seamless transition of new customers and products through collaboration with Sales, Customer Service, Product & Process Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, and Quality Engineering and Manufacturing.

    SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • Assist in developing profitable pricing strategies for new industry products and services.
    • Watch and advise of market trends relative to traditional, emerging and new potential markets.
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending approved educational workshops.
    • Actively participate in continuous improvement programs, with a focus on increasing efficiency and productivity of your respective job functions, while reducing costs and waste.
    • Adhere to Winsert's Code of Conduct.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    • Proficient computer skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, and other internal systems.
    • Possess analytical skills to identify industry trends and challenges.
    • Understand basic engine functionality, metals performance, and general mechanical engineering
    • Exhibit excellent time management and problem-solving skills, while displaying attention to detail
    • Adapt to changing requirements with minimal interruption in normal work flow
    • Strong interpersonal and team orientation skills
    • Ability to efficiently multi-task in a highly detailed and organized "team oriented" environment.
    • Maintain exceptional confidentiality and security of all Winsert related information.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • Must be able to actively move through office spaces and be capable of traveling to potential and existing customers.
    • Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen.
    • Hearing must be correctable to allow extensive use of telephone and voicemail as well as participate in discussions among large groups.
    • Mobility and coordination must allow frequent traveling.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or technology preferred
    • Minimum 8-10 years demonstrable success as principal salesperson of technically advanced or engineered products to OEMs
    • Demonstrated success in creating profitable new markets/customers
    • Technical knowledge of engines and metallurgy is a plus
    • Proven ability to establish and maintain professional and courteous relationships with customers and co-workers.
